Obituary of STOLTZENBURG – Dietrich Dennis Christian

September 19, 1925 – January 17, 2011 Dietrich “Dennis” Christian Stoltzenburg, beloved husband of Evelyn of Calgary, passed away at The Beverly Care Centre Lake Midnapore on Monday, January 17, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Dennis was born in the Free State of Danzig on September 19, 1925. In 1954, he and his wife, Marga, immigrated to Canada and settled in Montreal. He graduated from McGill University as a Chemist in 1959. After graduation, Dennis worked as a research assistant for the Pulp and Paper Institute of Canada. Dennis moved to New York and then to a home in Tannersville, Pennsylvania while working as a quality control supervisor for Keuffel and Esser in New Jersey. Dennis moved to Calgary in 1982 where he was employed by Western Diazo, and worked there until his retirement. Dennis enjoyed swimming, gardening, photography, wine making and gourmet cooking. Besides his loving wife of fifteen years, Evelyn, Dennis is also survived by step-children, Brian Danco, Carol (Richard) Mills and Linda (Roger) Lafferty; nine grandchildren, Sean and Craig Danco, Steven, Emma and David Mills, and Tara, Ryley, Shaye and Garrett Lafferty. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marga Stoltzenburg; brother Achim Stoltzenburg; and sister Ingrid Schrick. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
