Condolences
We are so very sorry for your loss Mary Jane. Mark was an inspiration to me and I will miss him as a friend, and a great human being. Mark left us far too soon. Knowing Mark, I believe that his last moments were spent in the mountains where he felt truly at home and he died doing what he loved. He died too young, but he lived more than most people ever will. His courage and ambition amazed me. We climbed some mountains together and I strived to become more like him. My wife and I would like to send our condolences to yourself, your children, and all other members of your family. I know that Mark was very close with his dad and his brothers. We would also like to send our condolences to Rob’s family. I didn’t know him but if he was anything like his brother I’m sure he was full of greatness. May their souls rest in peace.
I worked with Mark at Poco. Mark was a great guy, fun loving and always there to pitch in. We had a lot of fun on the Poco hockey team together, Mark was a rock solid man and will be missed. My condolances to all of Mark’s family and friends.
Mary Jane and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear husband and father. I worked very closely with Mark for several years at Poco Petroleums and I can honestly say that he was the best of men. He was such a humble, down to earth and caring person and I am happy to have been his friend and colleague. I can’t ever recall him being down and I will forever remember his good nature and his smile. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. God Bless.

We are very sorry for your loss. We both worked with Mark at Poco Petroleums and found him to be one of the most congenial individuals we had ever met. He was truly a great man and will be missed.
Dear Mary-Jane, Cody, and Brooklyn,
Our most sincere condolences are with you all during this difficult time. We pray that through God’s grace, you may grow to have peace and acceptance.
Brooklyn, even though we did not know your father very well, we know that he was a compassionate, generous and caring individual who so obviously loved life and love his family. We have seen these wonderful qualities in you too, when you looked after our children, and we are sure that his example was so very important in helping you become who you are today. He will be dearly missed.
We are so sorry for your loss. Our prayers remain with you all.

Mary Jane & family,
I had the privilege of spending a bit of time with Mark at Oak Park Church of Christ and playing hockey with him on Tuesday evenings. He was a kind & decent man as well as a good athlete. After attending his funeral, it seems that there was far more to him than I was able to get to know.
If only I had words which could increase your precious memories and minimize the pain of your loss. I believe that you were all very fortunate for the time you had with this remarkable man. I will think of him often, especially while in the Westside arena. He will be missed.
Sincerely, Steve
Hello Carl,

I worked with Mark at Poco in the mid-80’s and have run in to him on the street many times over the years. He was always ready with a smile and some joking. Truly one of the good guys and he will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
MJ, I am so very sorry for your loss and wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to you and your extended family. I pray that God may grant you much courage and strength during this most difficult and sad time.
Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Mark. Mark hired me at Murphy only four months ago. He believed in me enough to give me a chance at this position. I’ll always be grateful to have known him. He is and will be missed here always. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Mary-Jane … I cannot begin to express the great sorry I feel for your loss. I wish I could be there to hold your hand and let you cry on my shoulder. You are strong and will survive knowing that Mark was doing what he loved to do with a brother whom he loved to be with. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to you and all of Mark’s and Rob’s families. We both enjoyed working with Mark at Murphy Oil in Calgary until our transfer. It is so tragic that the mountains should lay claim to his life. Mark’s spirit will live on in our memories of his Monday morning tales of his weekend adventures in the mountains. He will not be forgotten and will be missed always.
With deepest sympathy, Penny & Sam
I am one of many lucky ones who has had the opportunity to work with Mark. I will always remember him for his contagious smile, great sense of humour, and sincere kindness. He is already so incredibly missed at the office and will be for a very long time. I am so saddened to know he’s gone…far too soon. May he rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.
While I had only met Mark on a couple of occasions, as I had retired from Murphy Oil prior to Mark’s hiring, I quickly perceived Mark’s zest for life, and his desire to “make a difference”. Mark was spoken of very highly by his work peers, as they reflected on his professionalism, character, and personality. He will truly be missed. May God bless the immediate family and friends of Mark at this time, and foster a spirit of celebration for his life.
MJ,
I am so sorry for your loss. Wishing you strength and peace during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I offer my sincerest condolences to your family for your loss. I worked with Mark at Poco in the late eighties. Upon hearing of the accident I pulled out a group of photos of our ‘team’ standing by a well that Mark had just completed near Bonnie Glen. The well was flowing back strongly and our smiles were very wide. He was a great guy and I remember his great sense of humour which was most apparent when times were tough.
Sincerely
Bruce Hammond
My condolences to you MJ and your family.
Mark was a good friend of mine as we attended university together and have maintained our friendship throughout the years. He was a true friend with a great heart and always a smile on his face. I will remember him as he touched my life as I know he did for lots of other people.
My thoughts and prayers are for you and your family.
Sincerely,
James Schneider

Tracy and Family
I had the pleasure of babysitting Cody and Brooklyn many, many years ago when you lived on the “Green”. I have such fond memories of you as a young family and still remember the love and joy that was always so tangible in your home.
I will never forget the evening Mark sat at the kitchen table sewing a button onto Mary-Jane’s outfit as she finished getting ready. While the gesture was seemingly small, I knew in that moment he was a very special and loving man.
While our paths crossed only briefly, your family left a wonderful life-long impression on me and I am so very, very saddened by your loss.
My memories of Mark will always be regarding his gentle caring nature, his great laugh and the pride for Mary-Jane, Cody and Brooklyn. And he also often spoke of his spirituality and his relationship with God. A wonderful person to know on a personal basis and to work with. A great loss for his family and friends that we could not share time with him for many more years.
From one old Glamorgan boy to another, very sorry Eddie to hear about the passing of your brothers.
John Wells
Dear Glaser Family,
I’d just like to tell you that I sincerely emphasize with your great loss of husband, father, and son in Mark. Mark hired me at Murphy and I worked directly under him. In the year that I knew him he showed his great support for his team, his wisdom, his love of life and adventure and his sense of humour. His presence and guidance will be greatly missed here at Murphy. But I think his soul will fly high and free in the mountains which he loved.
with deepest sympathy,
Lisa Holmstrom
