Obituary of LONG – Elisabeth Isobel

March 12, 1929 – January 11, 2011 Betty Long, beloved wife of Dennis Long of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Betty was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church for over forty-five years. She was an active member of the Quintus and Athalie Read Group and is a Life Member of the Women’s Missionary Society of the Presbyterian Church in Canada. Betty was a volunteer at the Fanning Centre for many years as well as at St. Giles Inn From The Cold. Besides her loving husband of fifty-six years, Betty is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Beth Long and Ron and Bernice Long; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Sarah, William, Kristy and Alex. She is also survived her sister Evelyn Wylie and her son Alan, both of Ireland; sister-in-law Joyce Rawlings of Wetaskiwin; niece Linda Chubaty of Millet; and nephews, Brian Rawlings of Osoyos and Jeff Rawlings of Bowmont. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Giles Presbyterian Church (1102 – 23rd Avenue N.W.) on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
