Obituary of WILLOWS – Karen Ruth

August 14, 1947– January 9, 2011 It is with deepest sorrow and profound sadness that the family of Karen Ruth Willows, beloved wife of Bob of Calgary, announce her sudden passing on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the age of 63 years. Karen was born in Winnipeg, MB and moved with her family to Calgary in 1956. She met the love of her life while attending Western Canada High School and was married in February of 1967. Karen had a real zest for life. She was vibrant, exuberant, tenacious, hard-working, and so much fun to be with. There was never a dull moment when you were with her. She also enjoyed the simple things in life – spending time with her family, tending to her garden, reading, fishing and indulging her unique passion for beautiful things and sparkling jewellery. She especially loved the many happy hours spent at Sylvan Lake with her family and friends. Karen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother who always touched those around her with love, kindness and understanding. We will miss her dearly but she will be remembered through photographs and memories and she will be with us in our hearts always. Besides her loving husband Bob of forty-three years, Karen is lovingly remembered by daughter Sandy Willows; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Joyce Willows; as well as five precious grandchildren, Kyle and Ashley Niznik, and Jessica, Kyra and Hailey Willows. She also leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law, Shelley and John Girolami; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Kathleen Sutton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank Ralph Sutton and H. Meryle Sutton. A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
