Before she passed away,Frank and my mother, Ruby Gore were neighbours at Staywell Manor. Frank extended the first welcome to her new home and was unfailingly gracious and friendly. One day,when he knew Mom had been too unwell to leave her suite for a number of days, Frank dragged a planter of flowers to a position outside her living room window to brighten up her day when she looked out. I will remember him for that lovely act of kindness.

Mom loved “Franks Flicks” and he used to say she was one of his most faithful attendees.

I am so glad I visited with Frank the last time I was at Staywell in mid-October. As always, he had his ready smile and that twinkle in his eye.

Dearest Sarah and the rest of the family (Finch) – you did so much for Frank over the years – thank you for the Christmas’s we all shared with Frank in your home. While we did not know him for a long time, we were honored to have spent time with him and saw how happy he was with his second family. We know he is in your hearts forever.

My sincere condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Byrne. I worked with Frank at City Hall as his secretary. He was always so kind and considerate. A true gentleman.

My sincerest condolences to the family. My mother, Florence, always spoke highly of Frank. Whenever I saw him at Staywell Manor, he was always the perfect gentleman and, despite his own health concerns, did whatever he could to help my mom.

Our thoughts are with you John at this time. So sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of knowing Frank ever since I was a little brat growing up in Calgary in the 1970s. Throughout my life he was always a role model family man as well as someone who enriched the lives of those within his circle and the communities that he called home. I feel blessed to have known Frank. He was a true gentleman and a kind soul, whose repository of corny jokes was without limit. I hope that you can be reunited with those you loved and lost years ago and far away, and not long ago and nearby. Rest in peace “Uncle” Frank.

I will remember Frank fondly from my years as a radio and television reporter covering city hall. He was Always accessible, forthcoming, helpful and pleasant. My condolences!

My best friend Dick Cochrane worked with Frank at City Hall for many years. I knew him there and also at The Knights. Frank was always a real gentleman and it was our honor to have been friends with him.
