Obituary of RICHARDS – Laurence Reece LR

August 12, 1946 – January 8, 2011 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Laurence Reece Richards, beloved husband of Joan of Calgary, on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the age of 64 years. Laurence passed peacefully with his family at his side. Laurence spent most of his career in sales. He worked for Calgary Fasteners for the past fifteen years, starting in sales, but after developing an interest in computers, went on to become Systems Manager. In a crowd, Laurence was often the quietest guy in the room, but he was a man with many interests and passions. He loved spending time in the mountains fly fishing, camping or hiking and he photographed it all. Laurence never met a road he didn’t like, and spent many hours exploring the back country of Alberta and British Columbia. Many people were not aware of his creative side. He enjoyed playing the guitar, painting and writing poetry. Thanks to the kindness, generosity, and love of friends he was able to enjoy these interests during the final chapter of his life. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. Besides his loving wife Joan, Laurence is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Erin; adored grandsons, Aidan and Pierce; sister Darlene; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jean, Bob, Jeanette, Robert, Marge and Don; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. SPIRITS FLY FREE.
