Obituary of ELANDER – Roy Walter

May 7, 1936 – January 6, 2011 Roy Walter Elander was born in Wadena, SK on May 7, 1936 and passed away in Calgary on Thursday, January 6, 2011 after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Roy came to Calgary in 1953. In 1959 he married Eleanor and they had two children. She sadly passed away in 2003 after 44 years of marriage. Roy had a lengthy career as an accountant in the advertising industry. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Vasa Branting Swedish Lodge and an active supporter of the Scandinavian Centre. Roy is survived by his daughter Cheryl, son Kevin, daughter-in-law Melissa Innes, and beloved grandchildren Grace and Ethan. He also leaves to mourn his sister Judy Grant, cousin Doris Beaven, and many more close friends and relatives. A Celebration of Roy’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
