Obituary of CRAIK – Richard
November 28, 1932 – January 3, 2011
Dick Craik beloved husband of Peggy Craik of Calgary, AB, passed away on January 3, 2011 in Sidney, BC at the age of 78 years.
Dick was proud to be a second generation Calgarian. He retired in 1989 after 35 years of dedicated service with Gulf Oil. Dick had a passion for the game of golf and loved jazz music and football. Dick loved music and singing and spent many years directing various choirs through church and work. He dreamed of sailing and loved watching the ships in Sidney. Dick was a dedicated family man and a proud great grandpa.
Dick is survived by his wife Peggy, siblings David (Eva), Ken and Marg; sons David (Janet), Randy (Viola), Brian (Karen), Allan, Dan (Suzanne) and James. Dick is also survived by his grandchildren Andrea (Chris), Catherine (Stephen), Erin (David), Matt, Paul and Tegwen and great granddaughters Chloe and Paige. He is also survived by loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dick was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Gordon.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to Calgary Pediatric Stroke Program (CPSP Research) at ACHF (Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation) 2888 Shaganappi Trail NW, Calgary, AB T3B 6A8.
