Obituary of ELLERBECK – Alma Petrina

August 7, 1912– January 3, 2011 Alma Ellerbeck of Calgary, passed away on January 3, 2011 at the age of 98 years. Raised on the family homestead in Dina, AB, she met her late husband, Albert, in Calgary and then settled in Bowness in the mid 1940’s. She was an out going loving mother, warm hearted and generous. Alma loved to look after children, fostering 52 children in her lifetime. She was one of the oldest and active members at Foothills United Church. Alma is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law Doug and Karen of White Rock, BC, Keith of Leslieville, AB and daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Tim Murphy of Canmore, AB, three grandchildren Michael, Kirsten and Stephen, four great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and one sister Dorothy Downes of Calgary. Alma was predeceased by her husband and three brothers. Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens on Friday January 7, 2011 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Alma’s Life will be held at FOOTHILLS UNITED CHURCH 3803 – 69th Street N.W. on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. You may forward condolences through .
