The news of Chris’ untimely passing came as a great shock to me. My heartfelt condolences to the family. I had the privilege of working with Chris from time to time when I was with Towers Perrin. I found Keith to be a great and a kind human being, with high sense of ethics, commitment and diligence. I hope his memories will bring solace to the family. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I knew Chris at Towers Perrin and shared several assignments with him. I admired his work and enjoyed his company; it’s sad that he is gone.

I am saddened to learn of Chris’ recent passing. While I was a member of Towers Perrin’s Toronto office, I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Chris on TP’s Quality initiatives. His high standards and dedication were always in evidence, and an example to all. He also had the charming ability to communicate the essence of an issue with a deft, humourous turn of phrase, usually delivered with the straightest of faces. It makes me smile now, but not without a tear, as I think of some of those instances. My sincerest condolences to his family.

I was saddened to hear of Chris’ passing. I had the pleasure and privilege to work with Chris on several assignments during our time at Towers Perrin. We traveled throughout the firm and worked together to audit many of our offices. We would spend several days reviewing how our offices conducted their work. Although we worked hard, Chris always knew how to have fun. His laugh and energy level were contagious. I and all his colleagues will miss him.

I got to know Chris a few years ago when we started to curl together, first as a spare and then as his third on his Wednesday night mens team at the Garrison CC. I also had the good fortune to play several games of golf with Chris at Redwood Meadows. I always enjoyed his company and he will be greatly missed by me and all the other folks that had the opportunity to know him.

Carolyn, Kelly and Kent. I am so sorry to hear about Chris. Chris was a great mentor to me over the 13 years we worked together at Towers Perrin. I will miss his great sense of humour and always remember him fondly.

Carolyn, Kelly and Kent, the foregoing tributes are a testament to the great person Chris was. I can only add that I regret not having spent more time with him! Our thoughts are with you this day as we celebrate his life.

Mario and I were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Chris’ sudden passing. Chris was a great colleague, mentor, friend and family man. We will cherish the fond and oh so many amusing memories we had together over the past 25 years. His great sense of humour, his zest for life, his guidance and, most of all, his friendship will be greatly missed. Chris was a special friend to me since 1984. We spent a significant time during our time at Towers Perrin on client work, sharing family tidbits and just hanging around. We watched some of the World cup soccer games over lunch. We talked sports – unfortunately, I never got him to fully understand the nuances of English cricket. He was my ‘go-to-person’. Once he retired (and when I could get hold of him from his curling, fishing and golf), we talked for a very long time on anything and everything. I will miss Chris. We are all going to miss Chris’s great smile and sense of humour. There was never a dull moment on the curling ice when you played against him or with him and Kelly, he really made you laugh. It was great fun and he will be missed by all at the curling rink.

My sincere condolences to the Kutney family on the sudden and tragic loss of Chris. I worked with Chris as a colleague at Towers and knew Chris as a person who brought a high level of intelligence and commitment to his client projects. May his memory be a source of comfort to the entire family.

I was saddened to hear of Chris’s passing. I learned many things from Chris from our years working together at Towers Perrin. I also have many funny stories courtesy of his unique actuarial personality! He was an important part of the Calgary office for many years, and played a key role in my career. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

I am proud to say that Chris was a good friend for more than 20 years. We met at Towers Perrin Calgary in 1989 and enjoyed the challenges of work, golf, and “retirement life” together.

We kept in touch after Towers Perrin, most recently chatting not more than a month ago.

I am deeply saddened by his passing. I will miss our golf games and conversations. Chris had a very unique and interesting perspective on many subjects.

We kidded each other, since our birthdays are very close. Chris was born a week after me, but I always told him that I looked younger.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband and father, although I never had the pleasure of meeting Chris, I know how much he was loved by his family. Karen is one of my dear friends and I have known Jo for years as I used to work at the clinic with Karen. My Sincere condolences Carolyn, Kelly and Kent. Chris had a wonderful and significant impact on me, my career and my disposition on how to enjoy life. I very much enjoyed my work experiences with Chris (that spanned 15 years), but particularly enjoyed golfing with him at Redwood. Chris made a study out of the game of golf and it was particularly enjoyable to watch him in his early days learning to golf. His back swing was so deliberate that you could time a hardboiled egg from it. We loved it. All of which improved as he finessed the game. And for those who had the pleasure of golfing with Chris, they know when I say affectionately that Chris never missed a 3 foot putt. I also enjoyed the occassional Friday lunch at the James Joyce with Chris and other Towers Perrin friends, but most importantly, I enjoyed Chris’ humor, his intelligence, his zen on different subjects and am most grateful for his mentorship at Towers Perrin. I smile knowing Chris was enjoying his retirement doing that which gave him pleasure, his sporting activities and in particular his family. To a wonderul friend and family man. So very sorry for your loss, it was such a blow when I heard. I still fondly remember his corner office at TP, the golf memorabilia, the endless actuarial formulae on his white board and his humourous stories about both. I will miss him. My condolences to Carolyn, the boys and the rest of his family.

Chris was a colleague and a friend for over 25 years. He had the rare ability to work hard and have fun at the same time. When there was a difficult work-related problem to solve, Chris was the go-to guy. Despite being meticulous, he saw the big picture very well. Chris laughed easily, loved a good joke, was a skilled raconteur and never took himself or anyone else too seriously. He was a great guy and his passing is a tremendous loss to his family, his many friends and the actuarial profession. Louise and I extend our sincere condolences and best wishes to Carolyn, Kelly and Kent.

We are sorry to have lost a valued member of Redwood Meadows Golf Club. Although Chris was a member of our senior group for only a short time, his participation was much enjoyed and he will be missed.

It was a great shock to hear that Chris had passed away. Hazel and I send our deepest sympathies to to you Carolyn, Kelly and Kent. Chris and I started work on the same day in 1976 at Monarch Life in Winnipeg. Chris also helped me join Turnbull & Turnbull and then TPF&C Calgary in 1987. Chris and I both worked our way through the actuarial exams at the same time. Carolyn, you and Chris were very kind and helpful to Hazel & I when we moved to Calgary in 1983. I enjoyed many games of golf with Chris as well as many great hikes in the Rockies. We also curled many times. Dear Uncle Chris,

Boy are we gonna miss you! You were a great uncle and the best god parent I (Dawn) could ask for! You had the ability to put a smile on anyone’s face and we always looked forward to a visit with you, auntie Carolyn, Kelly & Kent. You made us laugh and we enjoyed poking fun with you! As much as we hated the lingering smell of your stinky cigarettes and the strange taste of your fancy beers, family gatherings, including Gondola Pizza Night will never be the same without you!

Watching you through our eyes, even as little kiddies, we saw the family man you were. When we venture out and we take the steps to starting our own little family we will remember how to be like you, and put our family first! I had the pleasure of interacting with Chris when I was in the Towers Perrin Vancouver office in the late 80s and 90s when the two offices came together for various initiatives. I was always so impressed by the passion, energy and commitment Chris showed for his work, clients and colleagues. I have not seen him since I moved to the US in 2000 but Chris’s personna still brings a smile to my face when I think about him. My deepest sympathies to the Kutney family.

Chris was a dedicated husband to my sister Carolyn, a dedicated father to Kelly and Kent, and a fun uncle for all the nieces and nephews from Winnipeg. Chris had a lot of fun with his many in-laws when he visited Winnipeg. He was close to all of us. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing and fishing and joining in with us in whatever was going on at the time! We loved having him as part of our family. When we visited Calgary, he made us very comfortable and always showed us a great time! We will really really miss him.
