Obituary of LEE – Viola Catherine

November 7, 1916 – January 1, 2011 Viola (Babe) Lee (nee Ramsdell) passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011. She was 94. Viola was predeceased by her husband Edwin in September 2010. She was a great and wonderful person and will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Dianne McGrath (Bob); son Dennis; grandchildren, Leanne McKay (Ken), Dean McGrath (Lisa), Robin Lee, and Joel Lee (Carolyn); and great grandchildren, Kyle, Luke, Aleya, and Morgan. Babe was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. Prior to her marriage she enjoyed working in Assiniboia and Mossbank after which she assisted in nursing at the Weyburn Hospital. On August 1, 1942, she married Edwin, the love of her life, in Brandon, Manitoba. She enjoyed a very social and active life traveling around Canada and the United States during Ed’s career in the Air Force and she became a resident of Calgary in 1968. Upon Ed’s second retirement they both spent many years enjoying the winter months in Mesa, Arizona. Many thanks to the wonderful care she was given by the staff from Larkspur at the Extendicare Cedar Villas. A Celebration of Viola’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
