Obituary of BACH – Harold Irl

January 16, 1919 – December 30, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Harold Bach at the age of 91 years. Harold was born in Champion, Alberta on January 16, 1919. He began his education at Bow Valley District School and graduated from high school in Champion. In 1945, he moved to Calgary. He and Florence were married in 1948. He worked at Calgary Radio and in real estate before joining Canada Post. He was employed with Canada Post from 1955 to 1979 at which time he began his retirement. Harold and Florence spent many enjoyable years of retirement at their cottage on the Shuswap Lake in BC and later at their home in Salmon Arm, BC. They returned to Calgary in 1991. Harold was a member of the Heritage Club, Westwinds Club, and Chinook Archery Club. He loved to golf and always enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and travelling. Harold will be sadly missed by his wife of sixty-two years, Florence (McKeage); two sons, Greg and Randy; and one daughter and son-in-law Michele and Gordon Titchener. He is also survived by his sister Katherine Mullan; brother Robert Bach (Mary), and sister-in-law Peggy Bach; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Harold was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Hunziger (John)and Leona Gallagher (Charles); two brothers, Richard “Bud” Bach and Leonard Bach (Josephine); and brother-in-law John Mullan. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
