Obituary of WILSON – Dorothy Elva

January 30, 1917 – December 25, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Elva Wilson on Saturday, December 25, 2010. Dorothy was born and raised in Calgary and lived here most of her life. As a parishioner of St. Cyprian’s and Holy Cross Anglican Churches for 58 years, Dorothy was active in many church activities, in particular the Altar Guild and Anglican Church Women. She was a volunteer with Pastoral Care at the Calgary General Hospital from 1976 until the closure of the hospital. Dorothy is survived by her three children, Terry (Norma) of Calgary, Barry (Lynn) of Red Deer, Carol of Toronto, five grandchildren Shannon (Shaun), Jana, Stefan (Larissa), Jeffrey and Kristy. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband David and her brother Walter Shackleton. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Cross Anglican Church (2828 – 19 Street N.W.) on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Rockyview Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion during Dorothy’s last moments and also thank the staff at Hillcrest Extendicare for their care and concern for her well being during the past six years.
