Obituary of KING – Hugh

October 25, 1928 – December 25, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh King, beloved husband, father and friend. Hugh passed away peacefully with Gladys, his wife of sixty years, at his side on December 25, 2010 at the age of 82 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Hugh will also be lovingly remembered by his daughter Debbie (Dave) and sons Ian (Maureen) and Kyle; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Hugh was born in Glasgow (Rutherglen), Scotland. After serving with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders, he immigrated to Canada, with his bride to be, in 1950. Hugh will be remembered for his humor, big heart, love of the community and especially his extended church family. A Celebration of Hugh’s Life will be held at 11:00am, on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Red Deer Lake United Church, located on the South side of Calgary, on Highway 22X (Spruce Meadows Trail, approximately 1 km west of 37 Street).
