Obituary of WOOD – Gordon Frederick

August 26, 1926 – December 25, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordie on December 25, 2010. Gordie was born in Vancouver, raised in Regina and lived his adult life in Calgary. He worked in the sporting goods industry before moving to Banff where he and Pat worked together at the Banff Springs Golf Course before retiring to Cochrane. Gordie was an outstanding athlete, dedicated coach and the consummate salesmen bringing a smile to all those that he met. He will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend of 60 years, Pat, his children Doug Wood (Jennifer Radbourne), David (Nicki) Wood, Wendy Wood and Holly J. Wood and two grandchildren Dylan and Taylor Wood. At Gordie’s request no formal service will be held. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Calgary Booster Club, Suite 200-6 Crowfoot Circle NW, T2P 2L6 in support of amateur sport. The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Foothills Hospital for the excellent personal care that Gordie received.
