Condolences
Aunt Lilla May was a true and cheerful correspondant and a warm and gracious hostess for me and my family. I have a very fond memory of her cooking eggs and bacon for breakfast. Uncle Wilf would talk politics with us while Aunt Lilla May remained calm and accepting. She was a treasure who will be missed by her family and friends.
Lilla May was a good friend and a highly regarded peer of our Mom’s, Jean Isobel (Cammidge) Rowe. They had both attended Normal School in Calgary, and then later both taught in Calgary. Remarkably they stayed in touch regularly until the late 70’s, when our Mom passed away in 1978. We recall visits with the Kaulback’s in Calgary as the kids were about the same ages as Ian and Lyle. We just wanted to share this really important and touching piece of our collective past as your family reflects on Lilla May’s accomplishments and friendships over the years. Our sympathies go out to the family at this difficult time. Sincerely,
John, Lyle and Ian Rowe
