Obituary of PRIMITERRA – Mauro

February 19, 1920 – December 16, 2010 Mauro Primiterra of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the age of 90 years. Mauro was born February 19, 1920 in Francavilla a Mare, Chieti, Italy to Domenica and Alfonso Primiterra; he was the second of three children. In 1939 Mauro married his beloved wife Amelia of sixty-six years. Together they immigrated to Calgary in 1971 to be close to their children and grandchildren. Nonno Mauro enjoyed gardening, socializing with friends over coffee, and spending time with family. He will be greatly remembered for his loving nature, his compassion for all and his unforgettable smile that touched our lives forever. His passion for life was unmatched. Mauro is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Alec Dorazio; and his son and daughter-in-law Alfonso and Assunta Primiterra. He will be sadly missed by his six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Amelia and by his brother Nicola. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
