Obituary of McINTOSH – Elaine Janice Mickey
December 2, 1937 – December 15, 2010
Elaine McIntosh, beloved wife of Mervyn McIntosh, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the age of 73 years.
Elaine was born in Edmonton and raised on a farm near Leduc, Alberta. She graduated from a commercial high school program and spent many years working as a legal stenographer. Always active in volunteering, in the past she had campaigned actively for the Canadian Cancer Society, and most recently volunteered at the Father Lacombe Care Centre. Elaine completed her working career at the Family Services of the North Shore, in North Vancouver, B.C. It was here she made many dear and lifelong friends. Elaine spent many happy hours tending to her garden, and was an avid scrabble player.
Elaine is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Mervyn McIntosh, mother Ruth Holland, son Duncan (Michelle), daughter Sandra (Ross), grandchildren Jason (Cari) and Danielle, and great-grandson Shae. Elaine is also survived by her sisters Lois (Dennis) Copeland and Doris (Edward) Maskoske. Aunt Mickey was loved by her many nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her father Robert Holland, and her brothers Rodney and John Holland.
A Celebration of Elaine’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Internment will take place at a later date.
