Condolences
Working with John was inspiring, knowing John was a joy. JJ will be missed but not forgotten!
John and I met in CPS classes in 1977 and both ended being assigned to B1. John introduced me to fly fishing, cross country skiing and the police intramural hockey. John was a giving and caring person and he will be fondly remembered and much greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Frances and John’s family.
I met John when we both went through the Docent training at the Zoo together. He told me a story when I first met him and I have shared it with many people over the years. It was an example of how a person must be self aware enough to know when the time is right to move on. Though I didn’t know John well enough to call him a friend, he left an indelible mark on my life. I am sad to know of his passing.
SIncerely,
Linda Bruce

To John’s family,
My sincere condolences to this sudden loss. May everyones’ thoughts be with you at this painful time. A gentleman always to the people of Calgary and his brothers and sisters within the CPS family. We were blessed to have him as a “brother”.
I had the pleasure of working with John for a very short time. However, in that time I came to realize what a great person he was. I appreciate having had the opportunity to work with him. My condolences to his family.
John was one of those fellows you meet and remember due to his kind, decent and happy personality. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with John at Brewster and for that…Thank You John (rest in peace).
Fran
I was so sorry to read of your husband’s death in the Herald. It is a terrible time for you especially at Christmas. My thoughts and sympathy are with you. I only met John once, probably at a staff Christmas party and I thought then what a nice couple you were. Sincerely Jo Wheatley

A kind and gentle man who will be missed.
Although we never worked together our paths crossed from time to time and I always thought of John as a friend and trustworthy Officer.
Peace.
I am very saddened to hear of John`s passing, In 1978 I was John`s partner with CPS, He was a wise, generous and kind man always willing to help others, my condolences to his wife and family.
Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel.
I will remember you always JJ, from another one of your Bus Driving buddys.
My condolences to the Jamieson family.
John and I worked together in the 1980’s. I always found him dedicated to detail and a great team member.
I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. Every dealing that I had with John was professional and pleasant and he never had a bad word to say about anyone. I always thought that he was a true gentlemen and his unfailing good humour at crime scenes and other stressful events helped the junior members cope. He will be missed.
Although we were never partners I got to know John first in “B” District in the ’70’s and then in Ident in the 80’s. I only remember John being in good humour, I can’t think of a time when I ever saw him angry. We’ve lost a gentleman.
Condolences to Frances and family.
I am so saddened in learning of John’s passing. I worked with John as my partner in Zone 3-1 for several months during late 1990 and into 1991. He was a tremendous partner and a good man. I feel fortunate to have known him and to have spent many hours in a police car alongside him just talking about life, the job and as we were of about the same seniority, looking forward to retirement. My sincere condolences to John’s family.
It is with great sadness that I send this note to the Jamieson family. It was a true honor to have worked with John over the years and I considered him the best of the best while at Brewster. Unfortunately I cannot be at the celebration of John’s life although I will be thinking of him and you his loving family on Saturday. We have lost a great man and a true friend.
My condolences to the family and friends of John JAMIESON. I worked with John back in the “80’s” in the Identification Section. I remember him as professional, loyal and dedicated, a pleasure to be with. May God be of great comfort to you during this most difficult time.
Just in case we don’t get to John’s celebration of life, Lina and I were shocked and saddened by the news of John’s passng. I helped train him in Class #70 and he later worked for me in Ident. He was a good cop and a very nice gentlemanly person. We wish you and the family strength and that you will have many happy memories of John to sustain you at this difficult time.
Please accept my sincere condolence for your loss.
I knew John from our association at Brewster. As General Manager at the Columbia Icefield, John and I often met while he was training new drivers or was conducting a tour group. His passion for his job was clear to me from our first meeting. He was truly a professional and was a joy to talk with.
I also had the pleasure of working with John at the Vancouver Olympics and enjoyed his company throughout our five weeks at the Squamish depot.
He will be missed.

Frances, Andrew and Devon,
We were shocked and so very saddened to read of John’s passing; our sincere condolences.
Frances, I remember your brilliant smile when we met at the theater; John always had a happy grin whenever we met him on our walks. We trust that your wonderful memories will help you during this time.
John was a Docent at the Calgary Zoo when I was the Education Resource Coordinator. He was so kind, loving, and compasionate when I went through my own health challenges and when I retired he was so understanding in my need to find my new strength. He was such a special man and for those of you who had the priviledge to be part of his life, you are very special. My heartfelt thoughts are with you. Live with the love he gave to you and go forward with his love. With sincere sympathy, Alva Sodero.
