HESSON William Gerald

Obituary of HESSON – William Gerald

October 24, 1924 – December 11, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Gerry Hesson announces his passing. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret and his children Suzanne Rogerson (Garry), Peggy Kay (Doug), Bill Hesson (Pauline) and Scott Hesson (Linda). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Kate and Amy Rogerson, Michelle Kay, Colin Kay (Julie), Cassandra and Alexa Hesson and Pauline’s son, Patrick. He was predeceased by his son John, his brother Dick, and his parents John and Mildred Hesson. Much of Gerry’s youth was spent at his family’s Ghost River cabin where he rode his horse Pepper and fished with brother Dick. Gerry served overseas in the Air Force in WWII and married his high school sweetheart Margaret upon his return. He started in the Electrical Business soon after and built and ran a large electrical contracting company Hesson Electric for over twenty-five years. Gerry and his wife Marg had great adventures together including: archery, Stampeder Football, golfing at Pinebrook, and being part of the inspiration and development of Terravista in Windermere. They loved their holidays and traveled together to Stanley Cup Finals, Grey Cup Finals and the Superbowl. Gerry loved family occasions and had a special relationship with every child and grandchild. He will be remembered for his strength, his integrity and his “Hesson” humour. Please contact Peggy Kay at peggykay@shaw.ca for information on the gathering to be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Calgary Humane Society at 403-723-6000. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
