Obituary of HENRI – Isabell Marie

September 22, 1944 – December 7, 2010 Isabell Marie Henri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 7, 2010. Isabell was born in Calgary, Alberta. She spent her childhood in the community of Sunnyside where she met many of the friends she still has today. She moved to northern Canada where she started a family and formed many friendships that continued throughout her life. She settled back in Calgary where she worked many proud years at City Hall, retiring in 2005. While working, she was a strong and active supporter of CUPE 38. Isabell loved her union affiliation and was a frequent volunteer. She loved animals; her cats have always been a big part of her life. She volunteered at the zoo and most recently at the Bow Habitat Fish Hatchery. Isabell had a love of travel and liked to experience people and places up close and personal. She explored many incredible places including Scotland, Morocco, Indonesia, China, Japan, USSR, Mexico, New York and many others. Isabell believed in living life in the moment and to the fullest, to this end she retired early. She didn’t wait to experience the things she thought were important. Isabell will be deeply missed by friends and family. We have all been blessed to have known her. She had a great sense of humour and a quick wit. She often laughed so hard, she cried. Isabell passed away at Agape Hospice where she received excellent care. The family would like to thank Agape for their, love, support and care during this difficult time.
