Obituary of HUGHES – Marion

August 22, 1923 – December 5, 2010 Marion Hughes passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the age of 87 years. Marion was born on August 22, 1923 in Kerrobert, SK to parents Agatha Holtzman and Vincent Butwilofski who had emigrated from Russia to Canada in 1907 (although most of the children later changed their names to Budd). Marion was the youngest of fifteen children who were raised in the Luseland area in Saskatchewan. Although she did not have any children of her own, Marion definitely had them in her life when she attained her BEd and devoted her life as a primary school teacher in Saskatchewan and Calgary. She also served her Lord as a Roman Catholic nun for ten years. Marion is survived by her special friends Joanne and Bob Quinlan, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Arbor Lake Retirement Residence (900 Arbour Lake Road N.W.) on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
