Obituary of BIRD – Robert Neil

November 3, 1983– November 26, 2010 It is with great sadness we announce our beloved son, brother, cousin, uncle, grandson & friend Bobby Bird. He went home in the arms of our lord and saviour on Friday, November 26, 2010. Bobby was an amazing man with a gentle spirit who made friends wherever he went, as he made it easy to love him. Bobby met his life’s challenges with an upbeat attitude, but still continued on with an unfailing sense of humour and with an outstanding personality. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Bobby is survived by seven nieces and nephews of whom he considered his own children. Bobby leaves to mourn his father Fred Yellow Old Woman, siblings, whom he loved dearly, Leslie, Arlin (Fred Jr.) & Darwin (Tiny) Bird; grandmother Eve; Aunties, Delphine Klyne, Jeanie Delaney, Flora Royal, Judy (Derek) Brass, Evan Gordon, Melvina Yellow Old Woman; Uncles, Robert Delaney, Melvin (Monique), Calvert (Wilda), Herman (Loreli) Yellow Old Woman. Aunties from the Blood Reserve, Diane Bird, Carol (Henry) Bird, Lorna Bird and Paula Steinhaur. Extended families from the Blood Reserve, Prairie Chicken, Calf Robe, Russell, Small Eyes, Crow, Shouting, Crazy Bull, Wolf Plume and Mountain Horse. Also extended families from Siksika Nation: Mayfield, Weasel Calf, Raw Eater, Pretty Young Man, Yellow Horse, Winnipeg, Turning Robe, Little Chief, Delaney, Fox, Plaited Hair, Weasel Heads, Three Suns and also numerous cousins and friends. Bobby is predeceased by his loving mother Delphine Bird (Yellow Old Woman), his niece and baby sister Kelsi Wolfe Plume; cousins, Terilyn Delaney, Todd and Leonard Yellow Old Women, uncles, Charlie Wayne Davidson, Henry Steinhaur, Gerald Black Plume, Doris Bird and Special Friend Tanelle Three Suns. The family wishes to apologize if they have missed anyone. Wake Services will be held at Siksika Nation Community Centre Siksika Nation, AB, on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Siksika Nation Community Centre Siksika Nation, AB, on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow Canon Stockton Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
