Obituary of SIMPSON – Edward Neil
May 8, 1942 – November 17, 2010
Edward “Neil” Simpson, beloved husband of Georgina of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the age of 68 years.
Neil is survived by Georgina, his loving wife and best friend of forty-two years; brother Brian; nephew Noel; nieces, Emily, Jennifer and Deanne; and mother-in-law Mary; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Eddie; mother Marjorie; Gref family father-in-law John; brother-in-law Morris; and sister-in-law Beverley.
Neil attended the University of Alberta on a Royal Bank Muir Scholarship, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction. His career included banking, entrepreneurial endeavors and establishing the Alberta Trade/Travel/Education office in the Canadian Embassy, Seoul, South Korea. The Simpsons fell in love with Asia during their extensive travels in the fifteen year period. Nature and researching coffee culture were Neil’s passions. He spent many happy times enjoying both at their cottage on Saturna Island, BC. We will deeply miss this decent, quiet, honest, loyal champion of the underdog with his wry sense of humour.
Annyung Hi Gye Se Yo my friend, until we meet again.
