Obituary of WAGNER – Kathleen Christina
August 24, 1921 – November 16, 2010
Kathleen (Kay) Wagner passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 after a brief illness. She was just beginning her ninetieth year of life. She was born in 1921 in LaRiviere, MB, the second youngest of five daughters. She studied nursing at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg and became a registered nurse. After graduating, she moved to Trail, BC and worked in the maternity ward at the Trail Hospital. She met and married Arthur Wagner and they moved to Calgary. They adopted two children, James Kenneth and Elaine Frances. She was a dedicated member of the Lutheran Church and a member of the Rotary Club for many years. She was an avid golfer, loved to cook and work in the garden, read and spend time with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur, sisters Jean and Anne and sisters-in-law Helen and Elsie.
Kay is survived by her son James and his wife Marie of Calgary, her daughter Elaine of Vancouver, sister Flora of Winnipeg and sister Ruth of Morden, as well as many dear nieces, nephews and their children. She lived a long and a good life. All of us who loved her were lucky to have her.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at SHEPHERD KING LUTHERAN CHURCH (804 – 75th Avenue S.W.) on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donors choice.
