Obituary of METTIMANO – Emidio

February 17, 1930 – November 15, 2010 Emidio (Micky) Mettimano, beloved husband of Edda of Calgary, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 at the age of 80 years. His strength and determination was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Micky was born in Cerreto, Teramo, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1952 where he worked for CP Rail. The duration of his career was spent with Crisanti Bros. until his retirement. Besides his loving wife of fifty-six years Edda, Micky is survived by his children, Frank (Loralea) Mettimano, Paula (Mario) Loria, and Robert (Kim) Mettimano; and grandchildren, Tanya, Nicole (Louis), Danielle, Samantha, Matthew, Joshua, and Chase. He is also survived by his brothers, Francesco (Adalgisa), Mario, Silvio (Linda), and Claudio (Verla), and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his parents Franco and Paolina; and brother Benito. We are all blessed to have shared in his engaging personality, his sense of humour, his love and dedication to his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
