Obituary of CUSANELLI – Gabriele

October 16, 1931 – November 15, 2010 Gabriele Cusanelli, beloved husband of Vitangela of Calgary, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 at the age of 79 years. Gabriele was born on October 16, 1931 in Sepino, Campobasso, Italy and immigrated to Canada in August of 1956. He and Vitangela were married on July 18, 1959, and recently celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary. He worked for CPR for forty years after which he retired to spend more time with his loving family and friends. Gabriele had many hobbies which included gardening, making wine, hunting, fishing, and working on his hobby farm. His true passion and number one priority was his family, especially his grandchildren, who he loved dearly. Gabriele was loved by many and will truly be missed by his family and friends. Besides his loving wife Vitangela, Gabriele is survived by his three sons, Domenico (Angela), Giovanni, and Serafino (Julie-Ann); grandchildren, Victoria, Gabriel, Lucas, Matteo, Emanuel, and Kristopher; sisters, Concetta Cusano and Antonietta (Sebastiano) Petrillo; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joe and Bianca Iafrancesco; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gabriele was predeceased by his parents, Domenico and Serafina Cusanelli; and brothers-in-law, Michele Cusano and Giovanni Iafrancesco. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, November 19, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
