Obituary of BLAIR – John Norman

September 12, 1926 – November 12, 2010 Eighty-four years ago, a blue Alberta sky welcomed John Norman Blair into the world. The same Alberta sky was present when, surrounded by his loving wife and family, Norm passed from this life on earth to his eternal home. Norm’s satisfying and rewarding sixty year career within the oil and gas industry made him amongst the longest serving landmen in the Province of Alberta. Norm’s love for his work kept him from full retirement. He stayed involved to the end. His gentle, sincere and quiet nature gained the respect of many. A humble man, Norm exemplified how “actions speak louder than words”. He led his life by putting others before himself in a servant-hearted way. His generosity extended to his family and beyond, to both local and international communities. He leaves the legacy of a tightly woven family: Norma Blair (nee Skibsted); Warren and Debbie Blair, Kirsty, Natalie, Robson; Dauna and Stan Geddes, Jordan (Andrew Newman), Chelsey (Carl Morton), Kalen; Beverly and Bob Robertson, Matthew, Elizabeth, Luke; Jeffrey and Kerri Blair, Adelyn, Tenzin; Ron Blair and Vera Schlemme, Teaken and Dawson. Also surviving are brothers Jim (Marg) and Dave (Fran) Blair as well as many other members of the extended Blair and Skibsted families.
