Obituary of ROCKEY – Ronnie Ron Norman

February 7, 1956 – November 10, 2010 Ronnie “Ron” Norman Rockey, beloved husband of Gloria of Calgary, and former Saskatchewan resident, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the age of 54 years. Mr. Rockey was born on February 7, 1956 in Mankota, SK to Arthur and Jesse Rockey. He married Gloria Anna Smith on June 17, 1977 in Moose Jaw, SK. They had three children, Ronald William Rockey, Charlene Marie Rockey and Kayla Rachelle Rockey. They also have one grandchild, Aurora Kai Rockey. Mr. Rockey lived in Saskatchewan for forty eight years and has resided in Alberta for the last six years, where he was employed as a Farm Manager with CL Ranches of Cochrane. His family wrote: “Ron was passionate about farming, family and friends. If he wasn’t out working in the field, he was making people laugh with his unique sense of humour and witty jokes. His wisdom was beyond his years and his words will never be forgotten. Ron, you are in our hearts forever and your spirit lives on. May you rest in peace and enjoy your siesta. XOXO” Mr. Rockey is survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Ronald, Charlene and Kayla; grandchild Aurora and her mother Eunkyo Kim; siblings, Sharon (Bill) Filson, Irene (Bob) Warford, Ruby Peterson, Grace Rockey, Gordon (Betty) Rockey, Bev (Darrell) McDonald and their families; his wife’s sisters and brothers and their families; Uncle Art, Aunt Ruby Graves and their family and his cousins. He was predeceased in death by his parents Arthur and Jesse; twin sister Linda Norma; brothers, John and Leonard; niece Whitney McDonald and brother-in-law Clayton Peterson. A Celebration of Ronnie’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service to take place in McCord, SK at a later date.
