Obituary of DRYER – John Edward

July 10, 1929 – November 8, 2010 John Dryer beloved husband of Dorothea of Calgary, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the age of 81 years. John was born in Hanna, AB and moved to Grand Prairie in 1931. In 1946 he moved to Calgary and worked on the oil fields. Private John Dryer was in the Korean War. He was in the PPCLI from 1951- 1953. He married Dorothea November 11, 1953. He was a barber from 1954-1966. He joined the Calgary School Board in 1966 and retired in1989. John enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends. Besides his loving wife, John is remembered by three sons and two daughter-laws and one daughter; Bruce Dryer, Brian Dryer, Thomas Dryer, Joanne Dryer, Cheryl Dryer and Zimee Dryer, grandchildren Andy, Craig, Todd, Brady, Scott, Amy Dryer. He is also survived by brother Dave Dryer and sister Daisy Stagg. John is predeceased by his father and mother, Arnold, Robert, Bill, Mable, Iris and Fay. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday , November 20, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
