Obituary of FIGLIOMENI – Joseph Joey

January 26, 1990 – November 7, 2010 Joseph “Joey” Figliomeni, beloved fiancé of Ossan Arakelian of Calgary, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the age of 20 years. Born in Calgary, Joey was a chubby baby full of contagious smiles and energy. His love of making people laugh made him a natural when it came to indulging in one of his favourite pastimes – illusions and magic. He graduated from St. Francis High School and his creativity led him to pursue studies at SAIT in New Media Design. He became an expert in 3D design and went onto the University of Calgary to work on a degree in Communications. Joey worked for Dirtt Environmental Solutions as their resident Media Design Nerd, where he did incredible design work and pulled shenanigans you would not believe! He was also a certified scuba diver, loved travelling (but hated getting there), loved pasta like mad and adored his fiancée Ossan. He also played drums and dabbled in guitar when the need to rock out came around. Joey is survived by his parents Anna and Frank; sister Sabrina; so many friends you’d be here forever if you counted them all; and the love of his life, his Ossan. Joey, we’ll miss you bud. Keep drumming, keep smiling, we’ll never forget you. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Private Family Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
