Obituary of AYOUNGMAN – Marie
Pokakii – Little Woman
April 17, 1938 – November 6, 2010
Marie Ayoungman was called home peacefully by our creator on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the age of 72 years at her home in Calgary, AB.
Marie was born in the Blackfoot Hospital. Marie lived life to the fullest. She was a loving mother and grandmother.She farmed and ranched. She enjoyed the pow wow trail, baking, cooking, sewing, plus numerous arts & crafts, beading being her favorite. She made her Cursillo at Enthos. Marie was surrounded by a close knit family. She will be remembered for her sense of humour and being a kind and gentle women. A devout Anglican strong in prayer and faith/Cultural beliefs.
Marie is survived by husband Roy Ayoungman. Her loving children; Merle (Melvin), Hank (Martha), Alisa (Ken), Kaye (AJ), Maxine (Elvin), George and Joe, Sharon S. Grandchildren ; Rusty (Twyla) Athena, Karine (Manson), Jody (Krystal), Michelle (Darren), Sabrina (Brad), Melvin Jr., Melissa (John), Christopher, Violet (Jeff), Allister (Tasha), Kurtis (Sally), Serena (Dustin), Jasmin (Jordan), Krissylee, Xena, Ashlee, Mark. Great Grandchildren; Hilary, Guy, Wyatt, Darian, Elizabeth, Phoenix, Jodessa, Renee, Paisley, Devan, Roma, Riley, Teylin, baby Carrie, Kyro, Kaydrian, Jacoby, Tashyia, Samuel, Sierra, Harmony, Brandon, Alisha, Aisha, Joshua, Jasmin, Matthew, Tayla, Dillion, Carrie and her children. Alvin Solway, Lloyd Spear Chief, Cynthia Hardy, Angie and Ron. Blackrider, Backfat, Wolfchild, The Wolfleg. Ayoungman, Weaselchild, Gladstone, Sinclair, Crowchief families. Numerous relatives too many to mention and friends of the Siksika Nation and much gratitude to the Siksika Elders Lodge. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph, Katie, daughter Roma (Ken), Sisters; Martha, Jean, Mable, Hazel, Carrie. Great Grandchildren; Kira, Elvina, Twins Luke & Eve, Ryan. Loving companion Mark Wolfleg and step daughter Darby. The family apologizes for those not mentioned.

Wake Services will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Canon Stockton Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB).
