Obituary of BELL – George
December 7, 1931 – November 4, 2010
George Bell, 78, of Calgary, AB, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, November 4th, 2010.
George was born in Calgary December 7, 1931 and grew up in the area of Capitol Hill. George served his community as a member of the City of Calgary Fire Department for thirty-nine years, completing his career as Division Chief before retiring in 1991. During his spare time, George also worked as a stage and film technician and served multiple terms as president with I.A.T.S.E. Local 212. George fought valiantly against Multiple Sclerosis after having been diagnosed in 1968.
George was predeceased by his loving wife Eva on Monday November 1st, 2010. They are survived by their son Wayne Bell; daughter Lynn Paterson; and he was “Papa George” to grandchildren, Kirsten and Kyle Paterson. George is also survived by brother Robert Bell (Myrna) of Edmonton, AB; and sister Donna Dingle (Phil) of Thailand. George will be greatly missed by his family, friends and relatives and has joined his beloved wife for an eternity with the angels.
A funeral mass for George and Eva will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 1566 Northmount Drive N.W. (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Saturday November 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
