Obituary of MORGAN – Caroline Blanche
May 13, 1913 – November 2, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Blanche at the Mayfair Care Centre in Calgary, AB.
Blanche was born and raised in Saskatchewan, resided at various times in Burnaby BC, Brooks AB and Strathmore AB. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, active in Weyburn from 1939 to 1946, Noble Grand in Melfort in 1950, and President of the Saskatchewan Assembly in 1952-53. She was also a very competent bookkeeper and in her spare time she whiled away her time with knitting, needlepoint and petitpoint.
Blanche will be lovingly remembered by two daughters, Lois (Ken) Nelson of Calgary and Esther Morgan of Edmonton, one sister Maude Runge of Kelowna B.C., daughter-in-law Marla Morgan of Edmonton, and one sister-in-law, Caren Lang-Roseneau of Edmonton. Blanche is also survived by eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and six nieces.
She was predeceased by her mother and father Esther and Joseph Cooper, her husband Russell, two sons Evan and Keith, daughter-in-law Shirley Morgan , her long time companion Michael Elichen, her brother Augustus (Gus) Cooper, and her nephew Rod Runge.
At Blanche’s request cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at the family plot in Pangman, Sask at a later date. We wish to thank the staff at the Mayfair Care Centre for making Mom’s last days as comfortable as possible.
