Obituary of STERLING – Mary Elizabeth

June 11,1913 – November 1, 2010 Mary left us peacefully on Monday, November 1, 2010 having lived a full life. She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters Marlayne Williams (John), Karen Kryczka/May (Gord), and Faith Giebelhaus; grandchildren Matthew (Alma), Steve (Lori), and Karen Lister, Kelly Kryczka Irwin (Bill), Mike Kryczka (Sarah), Julie Buell (Mike), Silas Bancroft (Lori), and Aimee Lamarre; great-grandchildren Katrina Lister, Amanda Murphy (Tom), Jordan Lister; Sandi, Darci, and Chad Gagnon; Stephanie, Kristine, Jennifer, and Nicole Irwin; Emily, Jake, and Josh Kryczka; Antoine and Verona Laflamme; great-great-grandchildren Brandon Yarosh, Lucas and Emmersyn Murphy. Mary was born in Winnipeg, MB, later moving to Brandon, Saskatoon, Edson and Edmonton. In 1935 she married Dr. Samuel Giebelhaus, veterinarian, and was very involved in Erskine United Church and local volunteer work. Mary’s loves were acting, dancing, music, and international travel. They retired to Peachland, B.C. and became very involved there. Following Sam’s death in 1985, she married Gordon Sterling, moving to Calgary in 1988, after his death. Mary was predeceased by Edward Pearce (brother) and Dorothy Lawritsen (sister). A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. Forward condolences through .
