Obituary of HEAVER – William Edwin

April 14, 1923 – October 23, 2010 William Edwin Heaver, born in Calgary on April 14, 1923 passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the age of 87 years, at the Foothills Country Hospice, Okotoks, AB, where the staff gave compassionate and unwavering care. “Ted” attended Guelph and Olds agricultural colleges which helped in his love of farming. He also made a very successful career in the stock market business in Regina and Calgary. He was a long-standing member of The Ranchmen’s Club, where he enjoyed meeting friends, family and business associates and enjoyed a weekly game of bridge. Ted was particularly in love with the game of golf. He was instrumental in providing land for Heritage Pointe. In his 83rd year, he achieved the dream of a Hole-in-One at #6 on the Pointe. In the end, Ted was taken by cancer but not until he beat it three times during a happy and productive life. Ted loved being married and his first wife Muriel predeceased him. With second wife Nancy (separated), he enjoyed many years of companionship. Ted genuinely loved his children and will be greatly missed by all of them; daughter Joyce Woolridge; grandson Craig (Carla) Woolridge; grandchildren, Kaydence and Logan; son and daughter-in-law Ron and Gail Heaver and Lee, Lindsay, Dauvery and Deidre, his beautiful and loving grandchildren. Ted is also survived by his sister Eva Templeton, who was his constant crib partner, always accompanied by the “occasional” cocktail. He was predeceased by his brother Victor Heaver. A Celebration of Ted’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
