Obituary of ISBELL – Alf

December 2, 1921 – October 19, 2010 Alf Isbell beloved husband for sixty-three years of Anne Isbell of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Alf was born in Cornwall, England. He was a fireman on the Great Western Railway, and a long time employee with Hoover Co., London. Alf and Anne were married June 28, 1947 and resided in England until moving to Penticton, BC in 1982, moving to Calgary in 2002. In his younger years, Alf played football and later enjoyed golf. Alf is survived by his loving wife Anne, daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Al Thurston of Calgary, two grandsons Gary Thurston of Calgary and Mark (Sarah) Thurston of Penticton, brother Derek (Val) Isbell, sister Sadie (Roger) Isbell and their families, all of England. Alf was predeceased his brother and sister-in-law Reg and Doreen Isbell. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
