As a newcomer(s) on behalf of my family, I wish to thank you and acknowledge the life you shared with my family when we arrived in Calgary in 1970. You were a gentle giant because of your presence and graciousness to my family, wish them the best when you arrive in heaven! Thank you for your presence and hospitality to a big city you were sharing and my best to your beautiful family.

I don’t know that you will remember me but I was the assistant principal at Ernest Morrow Junior High and worked with Steve for the five years we were together. He was a remarkable man and a highly effective teacher. He worked well with the students of all levels of ability and his kind and gentle manner made him very popular.

None of us will ever forget playing basket ball with this gentle bear who was a bit older than some of us, but hung in their good naturedly and with determination.

I am certain we are all sorry to learn of his passing and send our kindest wishes to you.
