Obituary of CURRIE – Vimy Cavell

May 24, 1917 – October 10, 2010 Vimy Currie passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the age of 93 years. Vimy was born in Olds, AB and resided in Olds, Calgary and Didsbury before finally retiring to Calgary. Vimy and her husband Jim owned and operated the Didsbury Pioneer Newspaper for many years. Vimy began travelling extensively in the 1970’s and visited countless countries throughout the world by freighters and cruise ships for months at a time. In the 1980’s Vimy began spending her winters in Indian Harbor Beach, Florida and continued until the mid 1990’s. For the past fifteen years she lived a healthy, happy life with her family and friends. Vimy is survived by her grandson Jim Hirst, her granddaughter Heather Hirst and her son-in-law Tom Hirst. She was predeceased by her husband Jim, her son Jimmie, her daughter Mary Lou and eight brothers and sisters.
