Obituary of HOGG – William

September 16, 1929 – October 10, 2010 William (Bill) Hogg of Calgary passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Bill was born in Edmonton where he lived for 67 years until he and Joanne moved to Calgary in 1996. He worked for 34 years for the Alberta Government in the Motor Vehicles Division until his retirement in 1986. Bill loved music and could often be found whistling or singing throughout the day. He enjoyed photography, camping, skiing, golfing, reading, and traveling. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was very active in scouting, served in several bishoprics and as a Bishop of the Young Single Adult ward. He and Joanne also served as missionaries at the Calgary Employment Center. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, a dear friend to those who knew him. Our lives have been forever enriched by his example of hard work, faith in his Heavenly Father, his wisdom and unconditional love he gave to everyone whose life he touched. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joanne (Workman); his four daughters, Loreli (Don) Armstrong, Deanna (Mike) Clark, Lynette (Armand) Schipper, Aleecia (Francisco) Irigoyen; eight grandchildren, Sierra, Danielle, Taylor, Heatherlyn, Zoey, Zane, Austin, and Emily and his sister, Margaret Kuefler. Many in-laws, nieces and nephews complete our family circle. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday evening, October 15, 2010 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at The Church Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints, Calgary Alberta North Stake Centre, (5927 Tipton Road NW) on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
