Obituary of PEACOCK – Michael Vincent

September 28, 1936 – October 4, 2010 Michael Vincent Peacock beloved husband of Lynne of Calgary, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010 at the age of 74 years. Michael was born in Vulcan, Alberta on September 28, 1936. He grew up in Turner Valley and the jungles of Venezuela. He attended thirteen different schools in twelve years due to his father’s frequent job transfers in the oil patch. He lived in many exotic places but settled in Calgary. He married Lynne on December 1, 1961 and they had forty-eight wonderful years together and three children. His family was his life. He was a member of the Elevator Constructor Union for twenty years, finishing his career as a Safety Code Inspector for the government of Alberta. Michael was a man who could fix or build anything and one of his greatest joys was working on his home. He always said his greatest achievement was marrying Lynne. He enjoyed cruising and trips to Florida with his family. Michael’s passions were motorcycles, and his dogs, Tiffy and Buddy, his constant companions. Besides his loving wife Lynne, Michael is survived by sons, Mike and Marc; daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and Larry; five grandchildren, Derek, Ashley, Courtney, Katelyn, and Sarah; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Frank Sutton and Jeannie and John Madsen; beloved cousins, Tom Summers and his wife Pat, and Jane-Ann Summers; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Michael was predeceased by his parents Winnifred Jean Peacock and Oliver (Curly) Holmes Peacock. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at a later date.
