Obituary of TAYLOR – Flora Helen

July 8, 1929 – October 4, 2010 Flora Taylor of Calgary passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010 at the age of 81 years. Flora was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. While taking her nursing training in Winnipeg and working part time at Taylor Photo, Flora met her future husband Harry. They were married on July 4, 1952 and raised their family of four. Flora was active with her children in Westworth United Church, including in her role as CGIT Superintendent. After moving to Calgary in 1970, she took her nursing refresher course and worked as a mental health nurse until the birth of her beloved grandchildren. Flora is survived by her children, Barbara (Kevin) MacFarlane, Alan (Pauline) Taylor, Brenda (Richard) Poirier, and Donna (Mark) Reid; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bart), Pamela (Kris), Siobhan, Phillip, Mathew, Stephanie, Taylor, Kaelum, Greyson and Ashlen; a sister Betty Williams, two brothers, Frank (Gerry) Munro and Jack (Pat) Munro. Flora was predeceased her loving husband Harry on December 9, 2008; her parents Elizabeth and Frank Munro; and brother-in-law Al Williams. A Celebration of Flora’s Life will be held at ST. ANDREW’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (703 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. In honour of Flora, please wear something blue.
