Obituary of Terresa ‘Terri’ Lynn MELVILLE

October 25, 1953 – September 24, 2010 Terri Melville of Calgary, passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family and close friends, after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday September 24, 2010 at the age of 56. Terri grew up in Edmonton, the daughter of Bert and Stella Gagnon. She graduated from the University of Alberta Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1974 and married Dave that same year. Terri and Dave started their life together in Whitecourt. They moved to Calgary three years later where she worked as a nurse until the family moved to Kenya for work in 1984, where they stayed for four years. Nursing was always a passion of Terri’s and after returning to Calgary in 1989 she started working on the maternity ward at the Peter Lougheed Centre, where she excelled at her role as teacher to new moms and caregiver to new born babies. Terri will be missed by her loving husband Dave of 36 years, her daughter Melissa, her son Scott and daughter-in-law Pam as well as her grand-daughter Grace. She is also survived by her siblings Joanne and Don; their families, Rodney and Billy and many dear friends. Terri was predeceased by her parents Bert and Stella Gagnon. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
