Obituary of ANDERSON – William John

October 22, 1940 – September 22, 2010 After ten years of courageously battling prostate cancer, Bill passed away in Calgary at the age of 69 years on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 with his family at his side. Born and educated in Winnipeg, MB, Bill began his 30 year career as an accountant at Shell Canada. Over the course of his career, Bill transferred to Toronto in 1967 and then to Calgary in 1985, where, after holding various positions, he retired in 1993. In his retirement, Bill enjoyed golfing as a member of Elbow Springs and curling with the Calgary Oldtimers. Many hours and miles were spent driving coast to coast across North America. Bill cherished family, friends and travel, especially when they all came together. Bill will be dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, Irene; children Jay (Alison), Marni (Mike), granddaughters Janelle Anderson, Lindsay Anderson and Brooke Noll, sister Marni Kosmuk, his extended family and lifelong friends. Bill’s kindness, generosity and beautiful spirit will be missed by all those who knew him.
