Obituary of Lillian Irene DAVEY

May 28, 1931 – London, Ontario December 12, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Lillian Irene Davey (nee Tazzman), age 87 of Calgary, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Foothills Hospital in Calgary. Lillian, last of eight siblings, was the daughter of Robert and Gertrude (nee Atrill) Tazzman, born May 28, 1931 in London Ontario. She married Grant M. Davey in June 1952 and they had one daughter, Debra Davey Phillips. Lillian grew up on a dairy farm in London, Ontario. She enjoyed attending the weekly barn dances where her father played the fiddle. She moved west to Calgary with her closest sister Audrey (nee Tazzman) Morrice where she met and married Grant Davey. She enjoyed bowling, curling, football and hockey. She also truly enjoyed gardening, flowers, travel, bingo and her annual Stampede Horseshoe BBQ. She worked with the Tuxedo Credit Union and was a Mary Kay Cosmetic Director. In 1965 she pioneered the Young Canadians of The Calgary Stampede costume and make-up dept. and devoted many years as a Stampede volunteer backstage. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Grant, her siblings Robert, Margaret, Charlotte, Bruce, Violet, Audrey, Emma Tazzman and niece, Dianne Wilkinson. Lillian is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Debra & son-in-law Jack Phillips of Las Vegas, NV, her life partner, Herbert Dreger, her nieces Linda (Paul) Morrell, Christine (Dave) Burtt, Hal Wilkinson and her dear friends, Dixie McCall, Tracy Fewster, Sandra & John Kemp, Lori McWatters, Russ & Pat Sabo, Lynne Marshall, Lynn & Bob Gustum, Joyce Dreger, Winnie Gjerdi, Emily Dilk, and Hertha & Wes Born. Funeral Services will be held at Royal Oak Victory Church (), on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the church.
