Obituary of HOLLISTON – Lorna Grace

September 8, 1936 – September 11, 2010 Lorna Holliston, beloved wife of Keith Holliston, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the age of 74 years. Lorna was born in Edmonton on September 8, 1936. She grew up with her parents, Cedric and Ethel Congdon, on a farm in the Duhamel area. She attended school in New Norway, and after graduation, she worked as a teller at the Royal Bank in Camrose for five years. She married Keith Holliston on December 19, 1959. They settled in Stettler with their three children, Jim, Randy, and Lisa, and then moved to Airdrie in 1979, where she resided with her loving husband Keith until her passing. Lorna was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend who enjoyed many interests. Her most precious times were those spent with family. She was noted for her beautiful flower beds and for her exceptional sewing abilities. Most recently, her passion turned to quilting. Lorna showed much spirit and determination, until losing her courageous battle with cancer. She touched the lives of everyone she met. Besides her loving husband of fifty years, Lorna is survived by daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Cody Cuthill; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Koren Holliston; and two grandchildren, Jesse and Tiffany. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law Lorne and Gail Congdon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lorna was predeceased by her son Randy Holliston and parents Cedric and Ethel Congdon. Funeral Services will be held at Airdrie United Church (212 – 1st Avenue N.E.
