Obituary of VACCARO – Teresa

May 12, 1947 – September 9, 2010 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Teresa Vaccaro (nee Nicastro). Teresa passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Teresa is survived by her loving husband Alfredo Vaccaro; her three daughters, Divina (Dominic) Muto, Filomena (Victor) Cioffi and Lina (Frank) Ventura; as well as her five grandchildren, Joseph and Laura Muto, Elena and Teresa Cioffi, and Maria Ventura. She is also survived by her mother Filomena Nicastro; her siblings, Angela (Joe) Olivito, Peter (Antonia) Nicastro, Joanna Nicastro, Joe (Pina) Nicastro, Frank (Karen) Nicastro, and Anna (Antonio) Perri; as well as her brother-in-law Nicola (Orestina) Vaccaro; sisters-in-law, Teresa (Frank) Raddi and Carmelina (Salvatore) Tabonne; and twenty five nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Antonio Nicastro. Teresa was born on May 12, 1947 in San Giovanni in Fiore, Cosenza, Italy. She then immigrated to Canada with her father, mother and siblings in 1966. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved spending all her time with her grandchildren and cooking large meals. Teresa had a great sense of humour, a loving heart and made friends wherever she went. Teresa will forever be in our hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
