MULDER Lillias Grace

Obituary of MULDER – Lillias Grace

March 31, 1922 – August 31, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Lillias Grace Mulder announces her passing on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Lillias, the youngest of eleven children, was born in Trochu, AB. She moved to Turner Valley when she was eighteen to work as a telephone operator with AGT. It was there that she met the love of her life, Erick a petroleum engineer with Royalite. They married in 1946 and spent fifty-two happy years together until his passing in 2000. In 1964, they moved to Calgary where they raised their family of five. When her children were more independent, she took the opportunity to return to the work force part time and nurtured her talent in oil painting. Volunteering was also a huge part of Lillias’s life and she spent over fifty years with the Eastern Star where she was Worthy Matron several times. She was very involved with her children activities and held various positions within Job’s Daughters, Demolay and Girl Guides. St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and the Heritage Seniors were like second homes and she truly valued the friendships she made over the years. Lillias was a true lady with a witty personality and a warm heart. She enjoyed nature and spent a lot of time at the family farm and in what is now called Kananaskis Country. Lillias loved her family above all else and will be lovingly remembered by her children, David (Lynda) Mulder, Val (Klaus) Henze, Roy (Sharon) Mulder, Sylvia (Randy) Gibson, and Kathy Wilson (Frank Derochie); twenty grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. A Celebration of Life will be held at Christ Church in Millarville, AB on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Foothills Country Hospice, Box 274, Okotoks, AB T1S 1A5, 403-995-4673.
