Obituary of HOLLOWAY – Elsie

November 17, 1922 – August 30, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of Elsie (Ena). Ena was born in Morley, AB on November 17, 1922. She received her education at Morley Residential School. Ena was a dedicated family woman and active. She had a passion for her values in culture and the traditions of the Stoney Nakoda Nation. She would participate with her strong beliefs in Sundance ceremonies. Since 1912, her family were one of the first Teepee holders at the Calgary Stampede and still carry on the legacy with her husband Eddie Sr. as Teepee holders at the Calgary Stampede Indian Village. She had a talent for bead work, and with passion she taught her daughters. She loved to display her culture and bead work during Teepee inspection at the Calgary Stampede where she made many friends. She loved the outdoors. In the summer time picking berries, Ena would take great pleasure sharing time with family and friends, especially her daughter Vickie who took good care of her, and although all her grandchildren are special, there are five that lived with her, Hartland, Francine, Renee, Andrew and Glenna.
