I was sorry to hear of Horst’s passing. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Aunt Kathy, Phil, Brent, Avery and Erika and familes: We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Horst’s passing. I have many happy memories of the times we would get together at family gatherings, which seems like such a long time ago now. Our hearts are with all of you. Our thoughts are with you. Horst was a kind man to my family and a loyal friend to my husband. Layne would come home and talk endlessly about Horst’s quality of finishing craftmanship and how he wished more trades would pay as much attention to detail as Horst did. I am looking at the cabinet that Layne and Horst built for me for my birthday and have to smile about how proud Layne was to give it to me… but he admitted Horst did most of the work. Layne talked about how much he admired Horst after Horst would share some of his childhood stories over shared soup at lunch. He was truly a thoughtful, generous and determined man and he will be missed by many, including us.
